Lindsey Vonn, Olympic skier and girlfriend of Tiger Woods, had to take a
drug test at the CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday night. Attending as a
guest of designer Cynthia Rowley, she reportedly received a call from
the International Olympic Committee saying they were standing outside
and informing Lindsey she would need to take a test.
While I understand it is common practice that Olympic athletes are
drug-tested at random, picking this particular occasion to have Lindsey
pee in a cup seems a little over the top to me.

"Lindsay met the IOC at the bathroom," a source told Page Six. "Cynthia
stood guard outside, and no one was allowed to enter the bathroom. They
were in there for about five minutes."
Afterward, Lindsey brushed off the whole situation, saying, "We're
having a great time and [Rowley] did a great job with the dress."

Well, it sounds like she's used to this kind of thing. I may be a little
cynical, but I think the IOC's decision to test Lindsey at this event
sounds like a publicity stunt. Did the IOC choose this particular
evening to make a strong statement about how seriously they take this
issue? Was this the night to do that?
Do you think this was this a publicity stunt by the IOC, or do you think
it's not a big deal that the organization chose this night to test
Lindsey? Discuss!
